This workshop was held over two days at the end of January 2003 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Organized jointly by the Department of Political Science, University of Babes-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca and the Center for Policy Studies, Central European University, Budapest, the meeting was an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to consider the conceptual and practical utility of social capital in central and eastern Europe. There were four sessions addressing questions of definition, policy application, negative dimensions of social capital and its role in governance reform.Collections
